Spark House Founder at Black Lives Matter Teach-In
On Saturday, April 9th, Spark House Founder, Najee Omar, was invited to present on the poem as a source of resistance at the Black Lives Matter Teach-In at Pratt Institute.
At Pratt, Black Lives Matter means addressing the systemic racism and white supremacist ideology inherent in institutions of higher learning in America. It means creating dialogues around the racial inequality within their institution, and fostering activism within their campus body. It means confronting anti-Blackness openly and honestly. Black Lives Matter at Pratt reinforces activism as art and art as activism.
